Drinks: - Sugar magnolia - Quite sweet. I tasted more the alcohol than the whisky flavor. Overall okay but wouldn't get again. - Dark something? Smoother. Served with a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Lots of both cocktails and straight up options so a fairly lengthy menu. The specialty drinks seemed to focus on having a lot of ingredients, perhaps too many. Ambiance: - Service was pretty good - Tables are very close together - Menu difficult to deal with, in terms of organization. It seemed more focused on story telling and format than making it easy to find things. - Loud music, Dark The wait: Took 1 hour 45 min to get a table for 2, after placing our name at 8:30pm. They text you when your table is ready though so that's pretty convenient.

As a New Yorker and editor with the ability to keep you off some lists, I am crossing you off my personal list with a NO. I'm sure you won't miss me but you really should read some of your reviews about your door staff. In the grand scheme of things you are just a bar on a laid-back 6th street in the East Village. Your doorman should remember this when speaking with friendly locals, which he clearly is not. I can see from your other reviews that you might treat your employees well and side with them and I think that's nice, but you really should train your doorman to have some class. We live in the neighborhood and know a lot of the locals/bar/shop owners, we never expected such high and mighty attitude. It was very surprising. This is the East Village, if I wanted someone to make me feel like I'm nothing I'd go on a street with a row of obnoxious clubs. Unfortunately my friend became curious about your place, and although we were looking for a place to have cocktails, we made no indication that we were clamoring to get in. We simply stopped by your door out of curiosity. The doorman did say hello to us, I have to give him credit for that (maybe because the manager was standing next to him at the time), but as soon as my friend asked if he could go in and see the place he closed the door in his face and said "Nope" refusing to provide further explanation. I understand you have a tight door but maybe explain that, instead of being rude and dismissing. Say, "we have a dress code", or "there is a waiting list" and we would just keep walking. It's really not that hard to speak in full sentences. If you are going to foster a posh environment inside, train your doorman to be a gentleman and maybe dress him up a little bit. He needs to scan people a little better because you never know who you might be talking to. He is begging to be told off by a non-hipster New Yorker. We will let the tourists enjoy your bar and stay away. So disappointed!

Amazing appetizers! We had the fried cauliflower and the blue cheese fries, which were super delicious! Cocktail recommendations were also great. They will take your name/number and text when they are ready for the party. For us it was a 45min wait to get in after arriving at 7pm on a Friday (we went around the corner for another drink while waiting). Overall a great spot for drinks and a bite to eat!!! Very pleasant staff!

Dark and comfortable atmosphere with amazing drinks. It’s worth the wait and we were glad we came. Waitstaff and doorman were super nice and helpful and were more than happy to make recommendations based on our preferences.

Great place. Super expensive, but each drink was better than the next. The lighting is so low we needed our phones to read the menu. The appetizers we tried were great, shishito peppers and blue cheese fries. The waiter was super hipster and knowledgeable about all the drinks. We arrived right when they opened and were able to be seated right away, but expect to wait outside till a seat opens up.
